The liminal space between disciplines is where THESE ROOMS sits – the words of ANU’s Owen Boss at the Bodies Politic symposium at Maynooth College today.
Together with academic Karen Till, the core ideas behind the work were discussed.
This seminar as part of Fearghus Ó Conchúir’s THE CASEMENT PROJECT, brought together artists and academics to discuss the bodies of individuals and the body of the state in the context of the 1916 commemorations and to generate new forms of knowledge at the intersection of this academic and artistic exchange and to provide the public with deeper insights into the practice of some of Ireland’s foremost artists, as they engage with this significant moment of national commemoration.
This forum also marked the launch of the first ART:2016 programme of events by the Arts Council of Ireland.
