Creative Steps: COUNTER | CULTURE
A dialogue between young dancers, this hypnotic piece explores the individual voice versus the power of the collective. As pathways between dancers collide, stories begin to unravel to reveal other identities and new, different connections are made between them all.
Commissioned by CoisCéim BROADREACH, COUNTER | CULTURE is a new piece by choreographers Sibéal Davitt and Olwyn Lyons.
Company B: DILEMMA
DILEMMA is about the problem we all face when trying to go steadily about our daily lives and awkward decisions force themselves upon us, demanding choices that we don’t really want to make.
Company B, Ireland’s first contemporary dance group for young males recently celebrated its tenth birthday. Having spent a decade creating dances on a wide variety of themes and performing them all over Ireland this piece will sadly be the company’s swansong. This phase of Company B has come to an end and it’s time to imagine what the next ten years might hold for ‘boys who dance’.
