Simone O'Toole

Simone is a Contemporary Dance Artist based in Ireland. She trained at Fontys Dance Academy (The Netherlands) and began her career with Dutch-Brazilian choreographer Guilhermo Miotto. Since returning to Ireland, she has worked with Catherine Young, John Scott, Fibín Teo, PanPan Theatre, and Selma Daniel.

She was Associate Artist with Irish Modern Dance Theatre in 2022, participating in the IRIS Award with the Merce Cunningham Trust and Irish Arts Center in New York. Simone is Contemporary Dance Coordinator at TAAFFE TRAINING, Dublin’s newest full-time training facility.

Her choreography has featured in the Dancer from the Dance Festival (2021 & 2022), PanPan’s Mespil in the Dark at the Samuel Beckett Theatre (2022), and Fibín’s Waltsáil Abhaile at An Taibhdhearc. She co-choreographed Terra with Alessandra Azeviche for Dublin Fringe 2024 and was awarded an Arts Council Bursary in 2023 for her visual work Terra Femina.

In 2024, Simone co-created Shell with Matt Szczerek during Backstage Theatre’s Activate Residency. She toured with Catherine Young Dance Company’s Ciseach and Floating on a Dead Sea, and was recently awarded the 2025 Activate Residency for a new work with her company, SOTOCOLLECTIVE.
