
Favour Odusola

Favour Odusola (Proud African King) is a Nigerian-Irish multidisciplinary artist, dance theatre performer, educator, and creative entrepreneur based in Dublin, Ireland. With over 15 years of experience across Africa, Europe, and the UAE, Favour has built a diverse and impactful career that blends Afro dance, contemporary movement, theatre, and commercial performance.
He began his journey with a Theatre Arts (Dance Major) degree and honed his skills as a dancer, choreographer, administrator, and management executive during his three years with a dance company. He later completed a Master’s in Business Administration at Dublin Business School, combining his artistic talents with strategic and entrepreneurial expertise.
Favour has worked with Irish Modern Dance Theatre, CoisCéim Dance Theatre, Dublin Youth Dance Company, Rob Heaslip Dance, Rua Red, Mother Tongues Festival, Cork Midsummer Festival, Top 8, Black Canvas, and various other renowned companies and festivals across Ireland. In film and stage, he has performed alongside international names including Jamie Foxx and has acted and danced in numerous productions in both Nigeria and Ireland.
He has received numerous accolades, including:
- Arts Council Agility Award (2021 & 2022)
- AIC Artist in the Community Scheme Award (2021)
- Participant in the Create Autumn School on Cultural Diversity & Collaborative Practice (2021)
- Multiple commissions and bursaries for his solo and collaborative dance theatre work
In 2025, Favour performed at the 5 Lamps Festival, curated new original works, served as MC for the Ballysmart event, performed at the St. Patrick’s Festival, and took on the role of Assistant Movement Director for a major production of Death and the King’s Horseman in Sheffield. He also continues his involvement with the National Diversity Awards, where he is a performer and curator.
Favour is the founder of UMA (a structured Afro dance training program), co-founder of UMAKOKO, and co-founder of JAIVA AfroDance Camp—platforms designed to develop dancers, promote Afro-dance culture, and build opportunities for underrepresented artists. His mission is to create inclusive and culturally rich spaces for movement, learning, and self-expression.
Currently, he is researching and developing an original dance piece RR, that will combine storytelling, music, and movement into a powerful visual experience.
Driven by curiosity, community, and culture, Favour continues to explore new ways to use dance as a tool for relevance, education, integration, and transformation—bridging traditional African roots with contemporary innovation.
