Led by Philippa Donnellan

TIPPING THE BALANCE

15 June – 18 July 2015

In this latest Choreography Project no.11, TIPPING THE BALANCE took an oblique look at a few unhinged forms of human behaviour in the setting of a ‘great night out’. Sixteen participants bravely embarked on an unrestrained choreographic exploration of late-night cavorting, intoxicated exchanges, shadowy embraces and unabashed expression on the dance floor. From the sense of respite and liberation to the wasted effort to remain in control, all moves were on the table as sweaty bodies mingled forlornly and drinks spilled over, and the long night wore to its inevitable conclusion.

TIPPING THE BALANCE culminated in 2 free, public club-style performances for friends, family and public at The Workman’s Club, Dublin city centre, Saturday 18 July 2015.
