PAST RESIDENCIES

DCU

In September 2013 CoisCéim Dance Theatre began a three year long residency at the School of Arts Education and Movement, Institute of Education, St. Patrick’s Campus, Dublin City University. The residency, supported by the Arts Council and working closely with the Physical Education Unit, offered a range of opportunities for students to participate, see, and experience Contemporary Dance.

A highlight of the Residency  – 08 October 2015

Among the highlights of the residency was a special day in October 2015 when all aspects of CoisCéim were open to  students and staff. David Bolger and THE WOLF AND PETER team were in the college auditorium preparing for a special first preview of the show.  Broadreach Director Philippa Donnellan delivered  special workshop sessions for primary school teachers in addition to conducting a specialist workshop for college students in class that morning. Later in 2015 CoisCéim gave a special TALKING DANCE event on creating choreography for film with David Bolger.

CREATIVE DANCE TALES RESOURCE PACK

Following on from the CREATIVE DANCE TALES workshops for Primary School children and teachers, CoisCéim BROADREACH and the Physical Education Unit at DCU created a specialised teacher dance resource pack. Based on David Bolger’s THE WOLF AND PETER, it is designed to enable teachers to lead creative dance sessions with children from First to Sixth Classes in Primary Education. American College Dublin | 2012 – 2015

In 2012, the American College Dublin partnered with CoisCéim Dance Theatre and the Gaiety School of Acting to define and develop together a new BFA in the performing arts.  Together they created a broad based course that offered a holistic approach to the performing arts. The partnership between CoisCéim and American College Dublin ended in Spring 2015 with the completion of the first full three year course cycle.
