A residency of ideas…

In a special creative development residency, David Bolger and CoisCéim Dance Theatre will be onsite throughout Baboró 2018 working on his new work for people of all ages, FRANCIS FOOTWORK.  Set in the future, FRANCIS FOOTWORK is an upbeat tale exploring freedom of expression and individuality. A cast of colourful characters led by the fantastically rhythmic Francis Footwork in a fast paced dance adventure.

There will be multiple ways to engage with the company including a special masterclass with David Bolger on Wednesday 17th October.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Ivonne Kalter is originally from Germany, where she studied at Heinz Bosl Stiftung Ballet Academy and later on at the Iwanson School of Contemporary Dance. With her unique style and movement, as well as elaborate collaboration with choreographers during the development of each piece, she has carved a niche for herself and received international acclaim, including the Isadora Award in 2010 for the most promising young dancer. Ivonne made her professional debut with TIK Theatre in Kempten, where she displayed her creativity and innovation in choreographer Jochen Heckmann’s work. Although currently based in London, she travels extensively both with shows and to draw inspiration for her work. Recent work with CoisCéim includes: INVITATION TO A JOURNEY, THE WOLF AND PETER and BODY LANGUAGE.

 

 

Matthew WilliamsonMatthew Williamson is a dancer and choreographer from Dublin. He has worked with ANU and CoisCéim Dance Theatre on THESE ROOMS for ART:2016 in the Dublin Theatre Festival 2016 and in 2018 for 14-18 NOW: WW1 Centenary Art Commissions, LIFT and Shoreditch Town Hall. He has has toured extensively with CoisCéim- from Sligo to the Sydney Opera House- in THE WOLF AND PETER by David Bolger. Matthew’s speciality is acrobatic, musical and energetic Hip-Hop (Breakdance). He has over ten championship titles under his belt and in 2014 he received a life time achievement award for outstanding contribution to Irish Hip-Hop dance. He is also a member of dance group Raw Edge Crew who have performed and competed as Irish representatives in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, the UK and Germany. Raw Edge featured on Sky One’s GOT TO DANCE where they reached the live semi finals. Matthew has featured on a number of television shows/adverts and most recently on PENNY DREADFUL as a dancer/movement artist.
