CoisCéim is heading inside for the coming months and we’ve got some lively new moves to share with you.  From performance and participation projects to curated online classes let’s dance together to keep our spirits up, stay in shape and reflect on the positive change our strange new world may bring.

Highlights include the livestream of David Bolger’s award-winning THE WOLF AND PETER as part of the Sydney Opera House’s Digital Stage;  THE PARTING DANCE, his solo to salute the studio in Sackville Place; two CHOREOGRAPHY PROJECTS led by David and Philippa Donnellan and DANCE YOUR OWN DANCE virtual workshops for children.

Our SOFA CINEMA series will feature exclusive online private screenings from the CoisCéim archives, a special preview celebration screening of two films marking the completion of our major Broadreach commission, EXIT 15 and LANDSCAPE,  a short snapshot by the Creative Steps youth dance group.

The Parting Dance

Over 38,000 people checked into the livestream of David Bolger’s ★★★★★ adventure for children and their families as part of Sydney Opera House’s Digital Season, running from 17 April 2020 to 10 July 2020.  
 
This recording of THE WOLF AND PETER was filmed at Sydney Opera House and live streamed to 21 schools in New South Wales on 20 July 2017.  It was first screened in Ireland on Thursday 2nd April 2020 as part of CoisCéim’s SOFA CINEMA series.

David Bolger and Philippa Donnellan each lead an intensive CHOREOGRAPHY PROJECT in spring 2020.  A regular feature of our BROADREACH programme, THE CHOREOGRAPHY PROJECT is a creative and performance opportunity for adults to work with professional choreographers in the exploration of contemporary dance theatre.  Each project culminated in short videos, available to view online on the project webpages from Friday 26 July.

CREATIVE DANCE TALES DIGITAL RESOURCES

First delivered as part of CoisCéim’s production of The Wolf and Peter,  CREATIVE DANCE TALES is storytelling through dance.  In addition to the workshop series in primary schools it includes an online digital resource for educators and dance artists to guide children through a series of lively and physically dynamic exercises and inventive movement tasks.   FREE TO DOWNLOAD.
