CREATIVE STEPS Youth Dance Group for AGES 15 – 25
JANUARY – APRIL
To celebrate 10 years of BROADREACH, professional dance artists and former members of Creative Steps Sibéal Davitt and Olwyn Lyons were commissioned to create a new dance piece for Creative Steps. Entitled WALK, RUN, DANCE, it fused both artists’ passion and skills in Contemporary, Classical Ballet, Hip Hop and Irish Traditional Sean-nós.
In January 2017 nineteen young people joined the group to take part. Guided by Sibéal and Olwyn and driven by their exhilarating approach to blending dance styles, the young dancers were involved in rigorous technical practice, to explore movement-based ritual and urban rave culture – and to create new piece WALK, RUN, DANCE.

And – in a new departure, Sibéal and Olwyn and Creative Steps dancers collaborated with choreographer Philippa Donnellan and members of the Dance Ensemble ages 50+ in OFF THE WALLS a new intergenerational performance piece.
