We were delighted to announce the final instalment of our Age & Opportunity commission, THE DOOR led by Philippa Donnellan. TURNING THE KEY was a creative dance and film project that kicked off in time for St Patrick’s Day with an option for participants to create and record their own dance. Over 50 people embraced this creative and challenging adventure and took part in Creative Sessions from 16 March to 8 April 2021.

BEALTAINE AT HOME 2021
Hosted by Philippa Donnellan, this interactive online gathering as part of Bealtaine at Home 2021 featured a few choice melodies for everyone to stretch their limbs and kick their heels to, followed by an informal dance showing by the participants of the project. Audience and performers alike then took their seats in the front row for a screening of a short dance film created by participants of TURNING THE KEY.

DAFFODILS
Daffodils what’s the big deal about daffodils, every one ooing and aahing about daffodils.
Look at the lovely daffodils, great when the daffodils appear…are they that great…
Greater than a strong cup of Barry’s tea in the morning….
Or a glass of dry white wine …in the evening and then another …and another depending…
All running out to their gardens to admire their daffodils…
Out through their French windows…
No daffodils here…If I had a window box I’d grow herbs…not daffodils…
If Wordsworth hadn’t noticed them, don’t think people would be banging on about them…
Sap from cut daffodils can poison other flowers…
Daffodils celebrate the bliss of solitude…bliss…imagine…
I’d love a night in the pub with the girls…
Or a hug from my grandchildren…
Maybe I should get some daffodils… join the club…
