CoisCéim Broadreach and Dublin City Council are delighted to come together for the eighth year to produce FEAST ON DANCE | THE MAIN COURSE – a dance project for people aged 50+ as part of Bealtaine Festival 2015.
Inspired by extravagant culinary traditions both past and present, FEAST ON DANCE | THE MAIN COURSE began in March with drop-in dance classes in five centres across Dublin city. Over several weeks, the participants worked with Philippa and Cathy to create a variety of delectable dance sequences and to form the main course.
Set to be a grand social occasion, FEAST ON DANCE | THE MAIN COURSE concluded with a rich choreographic performance and celebration by over 70 participants for friends, family and members of the public in the elegant surroundings of City Hall as part of Dublin City Council’s Bealtaine programme 2015.

THE STARTER
A short dance served with some delightful choice ingredients.
Feast on Dance takes the theme of a celebratory meal and social occasion – and includes a lot of dancing together with a fair amount of eating and drinking! It is an 18 month project which started in January 2015 and will run through to Spring/Summer 2016. It is designed in 3 settings – THE STARTER, THE MAIN COURSE and THE DESSERT. Directed by Philippa Donnellan, THE STARTER was created with members of the Dance Ensemble – CoisCéim’s performance group for people aged 50+ and was performed at St Patrick’s College, Drumcondra in February 2015. These performances formed a part of the Seeing Dance strand of CoisCéim’s residency at the College, and took place as free lunch-time events for students and staff.
