EXIT 15
A partnership between Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, Voluntary Arts Ireland and Queen’s University Belfast
“In 2019, we were selected for the EXIT 15 commission and had the opportunity to collaborate closely with the Ballyogan community. It was a real delight to meet and dance with people from Ballyogan and the wider Dublin 18 area, to collaborate and create dance for live performance and film, and to imaginatively record the community and the area as it changes and grows. So, on behalf of CoisCéim BROADREACH and EXIT 15 team as we say goodbye – our sincere thanks to all those who have participated and contributed their time, energy and creativity in making this such a wonderful project.”
– Broadreach Director Philippa Donnellan, March 2020

DANCE FILM PROJECT AT GAELSCOIL SHLIABH RUA
Philippa, Matthew, Peter and Arran began working with children from 2nd, 3rd and 4th Class at Gaelscoil Shliabh Rua to create their own short film. Led by Matthew, the children explored themes of water – and invented some imaginative choreography, and playful scenes by the pool. Filming began early one Thursday morning, and even though the sun didn’t make much of an appearance, our young dancers brought the summer vibes – dancing in their best sun hats, shades and snorkels. It was so exciting to see everyone’s hard work captured on film, and we all had a brilliant time shooting some funky, freestyle moves.
Photos by Luke Brabazon.
Thosaigh Philippa, Matthew, Peter agus Arran ag obair leis na daltaí rang 2, rang 3 agus rang 4 ó Gaelscoil Shliabh Rua chun gearr-scannáin a chruthú. Rinne siad iniúchadh ar an t-ábhar ‘uisce’ agus tar éis sin chruthaigh siad píosaí damhsa agus radharcanna dramaíochta timpeall air. Thosaíomar an scannán a thaifeadadh maidin dé Deardaoin – gan ghrian sa speir, ach le dhiograis go leor bhí gach dalta ag damhsa ina héadaí samhraidh! Ba thaithí íontach í gach duine a fheiceáil ag damhsa agus ag bogadh le chéile le fuinneamh den scoth. Bhaineamar go léir an taitneamh as.
