About Broadreach

See Touch Feel Dance

CoisCéim Dance Theatre aims to be at the forefront of the evolution of dance as an artform – in world class performance work, in unique access and participation initiatives, as an advocate for dance – to provoke, to inspire, to entertain and to bring contemporary dance theatre to new audiences of all ages.

Integrated, original and comprehensive, CoisCéim’s artform awareness and participation initiatives are run by CoisCéim BROADREACH, which is founded on the principle that dance is a performing art. The activities are pioneering, targeting all sections of the population in an exciting and innovative manner to create a genuine curiosity in dance and to positively influence health, wellbeing and social responsibility.

Established in 2006, and led by Philippa Donnellan until 2021, BROADREACH touches the lives of over 5,000 people of all ages every year and enables them to experience dance as creators, performers, educators and observers through a varied programme of projects and initiatives that draw on CoisCéim’s reputation of producing ground-breaking, distinctive contemporary dance theatre. It does this by working in partnership with different cultural, social and educational organisations and communities at local, national and international levels.

Central to our ethos is to facilitate and enable people to work inventively and imaginatively together – to take creative risks and explore the unknown – and to challenge and enjoy themselves. Activities have included:

– THE CHOREOGRAPHY PROJECT
– CREATIVE DANCE TALES for children and DANCE YOUR OWN DANCE
– PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES and DANCE CLASSES for older people
– CREATIVE STEPS young people’s dance theatre group
– WORKSHOPS, RESIDENCIES and other opportunities for adults
