Over the past summer four original films were produced by young people who took part in the dance film project WHERE ARE WE NOW? Drawing on their thoughts and ideas about being young in Dublin in 2016, and following exploration of some of the areas and communities in which they live, they created four unique and delightfully quirky stories for the camera.
This autumn the short dance films were screened at a number of film events around Dublin. Lonely Girl – a bittersweet tale of friendship, was selected for screening at NOISEflicks Festival in which it won a commendation, and all four films were screened as part of Reel Youth programme 2016. Most recently, The Shapes I Make and This is Me were shown at the Irish Film Institute as part of Rush Youth Film Festival.
All films are now live and can be viewed online here.
WHERE ARE WE NOW? was one of five projects funded by Dublin City Council Arts Office as part of Young Dublin Centenary Programme 1916 – 2016.
