St Patrick’s College, Drumcondra

In September 2015 CoisCéim Dance Theatre began the third year in residence at St Patrick’s College, Drumcondra. The residency, supported by the Arts Council and working closely with St Patrick’s Physical Education Unit, offers a range of opportunities for students to participate, see, and experience Contemporary Dance. Officially launched in September 2013, the third year sees CoisCéim Dance Theatre build on all the work achieved with a number of dynamic initiatives including previews of THE WOLF AND PETER and an extensive Teacher Education programme of workshops for students.

Following on from the CREATIVE DANCE TALES workshops for Primary School children and teachers, CoisCéim BROADREACH and the Physical Education Unit at St Patrick’s College are creating a specialised teacher dance resource pack. Based on David Bolger’s THE WOLF AND PETER, it is designed to enable teachers to lead creative dance sessions with children from First to Sixth Classes in Primary Education. The resource pack forms a tangible legacy to CoisCéim’s three year residency at St Pat’s and is supported by the Arts Council and St Patrick’s College. The resource pack will be available to download for free via the Arts in Education Portal website later in Autumn 2016.
